Organic food?
octopusinagarden asked:
Let me start off by saying that I find non-organic food to be repulsive. It conatins heavy amount of pesticides and bacteria and can cause sserious health problems. I;m not legal yet, and am not old enough to get a job where I live, and my parents can’t really afford organic food. They try to buy it when they can but that doesn’t happen often. I’d like to buy my own food with the money that I have, but I know that everyone in the house will end up eating it all before I get a chance to take a piece. Really what should I do I can’t take it any more, and I still ahvent found any cheapish organic food stores inmy area.
Yeah, I know of Trader Joe’s they don’t have one in my state :[

They sell organic food at most regular grocery stores, at least around here they do. Even some of the real name-brand non-organic food companies have organic options. They usually aren’t too much more expensive. I get my organic food from Trader Joe’s… look that up.

Learn to grow it, that is cheapest way to get the freshest organic food on the planet. perhaps you can get a part time job with a local farm and work for food. That way you will get a great education on how to grow the food and you will get all the food you and your family can eat and a bit of money for your time. if you also learn how to freeze, can and dry food you can eat cheap, local and organic year round
Also look for items on sale at the grocery store. I have noticed in the past couple of months that organic items at Kroger are often on sale and cheaper than the conventional items. When you see sale items stock up on them.
To find a farm go to your local farmers market and ask the farmers if anyone is interested in hiring you part time for the season. If you get hired be sure to show up when you say you will and expect hard physical labor (which will give you a great body). many farmers would love to take a young person under their wing as you are the future.
